Pilates Classes in Canberra

The Studio at Peak Performance has regular Pilates Classes and incorporates small equipment to enhance the workouts.  Operating since 1985 I have helped very many clients strengthen their bodies and forge a strong mind and body connection particularly through Pilates.

What is Pilates?

Pilates systematically exercises all the muscles groups in your body, challenging weak areas as well as the strong. It balances the body, focuses on tight areas, and aims to increase strength and flexibility.

This system of movement strengthens your body and focuses your mind.

Pilates is suitable for everyone.

Who can benefit from Pilates?

As your core muscles are designed to support and protect your spine during daily activities, research has shown after a back injury your muscles “fall asleep” unless you regularly rehabilitate them.

Everyone can benefit from Pilates from sporting professionals to anyone with an injury and is safe for any age group. 

Improvements include improved range of motion, flexibility, circulation, posture, abdominal and back strength and decreases in back, neck and joint pain.

These days people sit at their computers for extended hours, leave the office and maybe go to the gym and work their extremities but DO NOT work their core correctly.

A tree is only as strong as its trunk and limbs and the same applies for the human body.  If you don’t build a good foundation and strong core you will end up tight in some places and weak in others which means you will be more susceptible to injury.
